I have a Compaq Presario desktop with Vista. It works fine (really!). I dread when we have power failures because it's always a matter of luck to get the computer restarted. Well, we had a failure, today. The computer has been running great for the last six months (yes, since the last power failure). The on button feels OK. I took it apart and all wires are in place and are in good condition. The wire to the motherboard is fine. The computer starts, immediately, but the green light does not come on and no signal is sent to the monitor. Seems, the fans just start up (keyboard does light up and the CD drive light blinks on), but that's it. I KNOW this thing works. Is there a way to trick the motherboard to getting the signal to boot up?
